Project Overview
Participated in the 7th Annual 3D Printed Aircraft Competition, an innovative aerospace design challenge hosted by the University of Texas at Arlington on July 8, 2023. The competition focused on developing a lightweight, fully 3D-printed aircraft in the Fixed Wing Category, with strict guidelines including 8-second propulsion limits and flight boundaries within a 300 x 160 foot area. The project required creating an airframe that balanced structural integrity with optimal performance, integrating advanced digital manufacturing techniques with aeronautical engineering principles. By navigating complex design constraints and pushing the boundaries of additive manufacturing, the competition provided a unique opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to a practical, competitive aerospace design scenario.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designed aircraft components using CAD software for optimal aerodynamic performance
- Developed and implemented 3D printing parameters for structural components
- Conducted structural analysis and weight optimization
- Led testing and validation of flight characteristics
